Are you a comprehensively trained Pilates teacher who thrives on making a real difference in people’s lives? Do you love working with a diverse, engaged community and value deep, individualized client relationships? Moving Spirit Pilates is seeking a passionate, skilled, and collaborative teacher to join our North Vancouver studio.
Who We Are
At Moving Spirit Pilates, our mission is to improve lives through movement training, education, and fitness. We believe Pilates is a powerful vehicle for change—helping people achieve bold new movement goals, connect mind/body/spirit, and foster a sense of embodiment. Our vision is rooted in personal focus, education, accountability, and a supportive community where success for one is success for all. We lead from the heart, value autonomy and integrity, and are committed to lifelong learning and meaningful, inclusive interactions.
The Role
This is not your average “drop-in” class gig. As part of our team, you will:
- ~ Work with clients across a broad spectrum: general fitness enthusiasts, active agers (50+), people with back issues & pain, joint replacements, core rehabilitation needs, athletic performance, pre and postpartum moms, individuals with scoliosis or other special considerations and more!
- ~ Conduct private assessments, design individualized Pilates programs, and follow up with clients as they progress—both in private and group settings.
- ~ Think critically about client movement needs and collaborate with our teaching team to create innovative, effective solutions.
- ~ Contribute to our community by supporting clients’ movement skill development and helping them achieve their goals.
- ~ Engage in ongoing learning and studio growth, with opportunities for expanded leadership responsibilities.
- ~ Have opportunities to lead and present movement workshops at the studio
Who You Are
- ~ Fully certified in Pilates on all apparatus and mat, with a minimum 500-hour internship as part of your training.
- ~ 2 years of post-certification teaching experience.
- ~ Confident working with a range of populations, including those with injuries, chronic conditions, and specialized needs
- ~ A great communicator (spoken and written)
- ~ Knowledgeable in adapting Pilates for core rehab, osteoporosis, joint replacements, postpartum recovery, scoliosis, and athletic performance.
- ~ Experience in other movement modalities (dance, Franklin Method, ELDOA, sport, etc.) is an asset.
- ~ Inclusive, accountable, curious, and dedicated to building meaningful connections.
- ~ Comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- ~ Excited about contributing to something bigger than “just a class”—you want to help build a vibrant, connected, client-centred community.
The Details
- ~ Contractor position, base $50/hr with bonuses for growing private and group memberships.
- ~ Initial schedule: afternoons/evenings, with some weekend availability.
- ~ Location: Moving Spirit Pilates, North Vancouver (in-person only).
- ~ Start teaching: September 2025 (with orientation and training in August).
- ~ Room for career growth, including expanded hours and studio management roles for the right person.
